Top 10 Female Anime Characters

Top 10 Female Anime Characters.

This list is totally opinionated. This list is composed of the female anime characters I liked and enjoyed watching the most (personality, role in the story, appearance etc.).
P.S. A mini-spoiler at No 2.

10) Mina Tepes (Dance in the Vampire Bund)

The protagonist of DVB. This little young girl is great; not only is she a vampire - and a strong one at that - she is also the Queen of Vampires. She reigns over hundreds and thousands of these legendary creatures. This shows quite a part of her awesomeness. She is cute, beautiful, strong and also very subtle. She looks inoffensive and kind at first, but she's actually harsh and sometimes cruel, because of her position and responsibilities she has, which is very understandable.

9) Sena Kashiwazaki (Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai)

One of the two main girls of this show. Sena is a rich and beautiful blonde girl, with big boobs. She is probably one my favourite "waifus". I mean, she is beautiful, kind, intelligent, cute, has a great body and is also a tsundere at a very reasonable level - she even is a gamer, WOW! She serves a lot for the comedy and I really liked when she was arguing with Yozora, as she was almost always losing against her. The only downside is that, exactly because she is rich, she sometimes acts like a spoiled kid, which was a bit annoying watching at; but besides that, I have nothing against her.

8) Momo Velia Deviluke (To Love-Ru)

Alright, Momo is simply amazing! She is so enjoyable to watch! She has a "split personality"; one time she is this very kind, cute and lovable girl everyone wants to go out with; after that, she becomes this creepy and very perverted - and sometimes a bit sadistic - girl, who seeks to create a harem for Rito Yuki, the protagonist. Speaking of harems, here is a unique aspect of Momo: SHE was the one wanting the harem and she wants to be part of it, without caring of how many girls there are in, from the moment she becomes a concubine of Rito. This is something. Harem plan: Go for it Momo, go for it.

7) Koneko Toujou (High School DxD)

Better say it from the beginning: I LOVE danderes and silent characters! And Koneko is not an exception. This cute devil at the service of Rias Gremory as a rook, is lovable. She is small, younger, cute, silent and cool... Koneko-chan! <<Fangirl scream>> As a rook, she has herculean strength, which makes her also powerful. As for the anime, she is the only girl who's the most distant of Issei, the perverted protagonist. It's very funny when all the other girls don't mind doing "things" with Issei, while Koneko simply rejects the thought and hits him whenever he tries to do perverted things. XD

6) Mikan Yuuki (To Love-Ru)

Another girl from To Love-Ru? Yep, and this time, we have the little sister character, another archetype I like quite a lot. Especially in the case of Mikan, who's my favourite in that category. She is beautiful, intelligent, cute, reasonable, mature for her age and acts like a real great little sister, who cares for her brother. She, of course, helps in the comical relief of the show, as well. Like other cases, I find it very funny, when she and her brother, Rito, hear something, Mikan thinks of it as something perverted, while Rito not at all, because he is a bit of a brick. I love little sisters who occasionally get perverted thoughts!

5) Ayase Aragaki (Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai)

The only yandere of the list, Ayase. Exactly because she is a yandere, she is great. However, she is not a mega-yandere like Yuno and, I kinda prefer that. Beautiful, elegant and kind, she also works as a model for a teens magazine. Being one of the romance interests of Kyousuke - the protagonist - she in my opinion, the best one, slightly above Ruri. They totally were great together... She also is a strong comical relief, which is mostly show with her yandere side and when she hits Kyousuke, when he thinks about perverted things, either with or without her in them. Another great "waifu" for me.

4) Shana, "Flame-Haired Burning-Eyed Hunter" (Shakugan no Shana)

Female protagonist of Shakugan no Shana, member of the Rie Kugimiya "Tsundere Quadra" and holder of the legendary quote: "Urusai! Urusai! Urusai!", Shana has a well-deserved spot on this list. Being one of the best female protagonists I have ever seen, Shana is also a very powerful, cool and badass Flame Haze, with strong powers and great abilities. She also gets a great development throughout the series, which makes her even more interesting as a character. Plus, she is very cute, especially when eating her melon breads. What else? Oh, and let's not forget: Flat is justice!

3) Nanami Aoyama (Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo)

Nanami is such a great character. It is difficult to pick a favourite from this series, since all characters are amazing. But for me, it is Nanami. Starting off as a generic tsundere, she slowly becomes the most likeable character of the show, IMO. She gets a great development and is, together with Sorata - protagonist - the character who makes us feel best how she feels herself. Many of us have gone through the sad and painful events she has, which makes us to sympathise with her; and I wasn't excluded. A hard-working, beautiful, kind and smart character, I love her. Bonus: Ponytail!

2) Suigintou (Rozen Maiden)

Here is a very different type of character from the previous ones. Suingintou, the 1st Rozen Maiden created by Rozen, appears as an evil and cruel antagonist, who is constantly trying to destroy the other Maidens to gain more power. The truth is something else. At first, I disliked her for what she was doing, but as the show was going on, I started liking her more, as we were learning more about her character, and in the 2nd season, I really started to like her, as we see her gaining a kinder side towards a human girl. However, what made me love her, is the OVAs, where we get a full understanding of her past and what she went through. She just wanted love from her creator; she instead got pity, disgust, reject and pain, and was considered as junk; we see the real events that occured and I couldn't help but sympathise and feel bad for her. At that instant, everything she has done makes sense and I forgave her for everything. I love her. Show her your love, too; she needs it...

1) Hecate, "Master Throne" (Shakugan no Shana)

<<Fangirl scream>> Member of the "Trinity", one of the three leaders of "Bal Masqué": Hecate. I - LOVE -THIS - GIRL! She is so amazing! She is beautiful and cute, strong and badass, silent and cool and above all, she is a loli silent girl! What else do I need? She is also one the most subtle anime characters I have seen, her theme of subtlety apparently being around existence itself; I say "apparently", because we feel the subtle message, but at the same time, it is so cryptic and confusing that you can't exactly figure out what it is, which makes her when more interesting. She serves a great role in the story in all 3 seasons and even differs from generic antagonists a lot, by kilometers. In fact, compared to the other 2 members of Bal Masqué, I didn't even feel she was a villain. Another thing I love is that she has this mysterious aura around her; at times, she looks like a lost child who needs care, when at the same time, she looks like a very independant girl. This mysterious aura is implified by the fact she actually acts as a priestess and is praying to the gods many times, when she herself looks like a sort of deity. I simply love Hecate to no end. You won't dethrone the "Master Throne"! ... Sorry, that was bad.

This ends my first article. I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to comment, if you want to express your opinion on this list or your own favourite female anime characters. Thank you for reading.
